I have a 1986lincoln towncar, it sat for 11 months till 4 days ago. Drove it fine till I ran out of gas after 4 days and car shut off trying to park. No type of noise or backfire nor rough running motor. Just shut off and now wont start but cranks over fine.

In tank fuel pumps are cooled and lubricated by the fuel in the tank. When you run a car out of gas, it pumps a lot of air through the pump which overheats it and causes some severe wear and many times, failure when they cool off.
You will need to use a fuel pressure gauge to verify this
