I have a 1986 CJ7 that was retrofitted with a 4.0L fuel injected engine before I bought it 12 years ago. It spends a lot of time sitting but has always started fine. A few weeks ago I went to start it and it turned for about 30 seconds and then dead silence. Had the battery checked, was fine. Replaced the voltage regulator, starter and alternator also checked out fine, replaced the ignition safety switch. Still nothing. Any ideas? The wire going to the coil is active even when the key is in the off position. I plan on keeping this jeep forever but cant afford to replace the wiring harness right now if that is the solution.
