Looking at buying a 1986 Jaguar and the guy said it has a loose valve in the engine. What are the solutions to this? Rebuild? Thanks zach

KINDA SOUNDS LIKE A GENERIC "MAKE UP SYMPTOM NAMES" AS NEEDED

I'M NOT SAYING NOTHING IS "NOT" WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE

"LOOSE VALVE" IS SORTA NOT A NORMAL TERM USED TO EXPLAIN A VALVE TRAIN PROBLEM ATTEMPTED TO BE DIAGNOSED EXTERNALLY

SORTA LIKE THE TERM "VAPOR LOCK" USED EVER SO LOOSELY, WHEN AN IGNORANT PERSON WANTS TO SEEM LIKE A PRO, WHEN YOUR CAR WON'T START!

IT MAY BE A LIFTER ISSUE, BENT PUSH-ROD, MANY OTHER POSSIBILITIES

SOME ARE SERIOUS, OTHERS, NOT SO

WHAT'S IT DOING EXACTLY?

I SUGGEST FINDING A QUALIFIED PERSON TO LOOK AT/ LISTEN TO IT 1ST HAND

CONCERNED ABOUT COST, BEFORE YOU BUY?

FIND AND TALK TO A MA AND POP, SMALL TIME AUTO SALVAGE YARD, THEY KNOW MUCH OF THE TIME WHAT THE SYMPTOMS POINT TOWARD. THEY WILL GENERALLY LOOK AT SOMETHING, JUST TO SORTA SHOW OFF THEIR AUTO ABILITIES. A "TIP" OR A SOFT DRINKS AS A GESTURE OF GRATITUDE GOES A LONG WAY. THEY ARE ALSO A GOOD SOURCE OF INFO AS TO "LITTLE GUY MECHANICS" WHO DO YOU RIGHT, AND BE INEXPENSIVE TOO.

KEEP US INFORMED
