Door latch

The drivers side door latch keeps coming out when the door is open a few times what am I missing. Really not sure how it all works together so I dont know if im missing any parts or what?

Look at the passenger side-could be loose or something broke off-

I did that everything looks the same but I dont why the rod coming from the outside door latch keeps jumping out? The rod goes thru the door latch which causes the door to open but after a few rep it will jump out of the latch causing the outside door handle inop

Could be a bushing or need adjustment-look at it closely

The hole where the rod goes thru the latch should there be any type of clip? What holds the rod in place coming from the outside door handle to the door latch?

There should be a plastic holding clip that is plugged in and clasped onto the rod.
