1985 TOYOTA PICKUP
I have a detroit locker with 4.88 gears in both axles. The rear axle lately has been slamming and banging extreemly hard lately. Could the pinion gear be jumping teeth on the ring gear?

Doubt it. It would lock the truck up. Open the case and inspect the spider gears.
