My friend has a problem with his 1985 S-10 pickup (2.8L). After swapping engine blocks he found a part to be leaking oil. The part is an elbow extension from the engine block to the oil filter. I think the filter would normally be screwed right onto the block, but because of the proximity to the motor mount, the elbow extension is necessary on this model truck. The elbow is cracked and leaking. We have called all the local salvage yards and dealers, but no one can locate a replacement, or even what the name or part # is due to the age of the truck. It's proving impossible to find a part I don't know the name of. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like the oil filter adapter. You will have to remove the part so they can match it up.

If I understand the question? The part you are looking for is called an oil filter line adapter. If the oil filter is not attched to the block. It will be oil lines.
