I have a1985 s10 blazer 2.8 4wdrive the other day it started spitting and sputtering then back fired and cut off. Its getting fuel and I changed the distributor cap and rotor button due to low spark now is seems to spark fine when u turn it over but still doesn't start. Do u think it could be the timing chain or something else any advice would be great thanks

Take teh cap off and put engine up to #1 and see if rotor is pointing to #1 plug wire. If it's off or the rotor cap doesn't spin good I t may be timing chain. Also take a compresion check if timing chain is bad teh compression on all cylinderswill be very low like 75 #
