1984 Pontiac Trans Am surging while in drive

I have an 84 trans am, with an 86 suburban 350 engine, never has had a problem til lately it started surging while in drive, rpms surge up an down

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge. Then check for a vacuum leak.
