Starter motor may have a dead spot. Try tapping it with a hammer while someone has it in the start position.

Went out and bought a new alternator, after installed by a friend, he used jumper cables on the battery for about 10 minutes while my car was off, it started right up, so far i've started it three times on its own alone, it starts immediately, the multimeter took a reading 14.58. You think that might have been the answer, alternator?
