1983 Ford E-Series Van overheating

I thought it was the water pump but I was told if it not leaking than that is not the problem! The water seems to be flowing properly.I removed the thermostat and it is still heating up. Any Ideas?

First shut off engine when hot and check radiator in different spots, if you feel any cold spots the rad is bad. Then have coolant system pressure checked for internal leaks like a head gasket.
