I have a 1983 BMW 320i. My fuel pump fuse is melting. Is the fuel pump shorting out, or drawing too much power? If so, which would be causing this, the internal or the external pump? It works fine until the fuse melts to the point of not making contact.

Thanks

is the correct fuse in the fuse box?? installing a larger fuse will damage wiring.

you need to have the current draw checked on both pumps to determine the failure

Yes, the correct fuse is in. Hopefully they're not both crapping out. Are they both electric pumps?
