The crankshaft positioning sensor is no longer available anywhere and I have been told that there is a way to eliminate the part and use a distributor and condenser and need to know how to accomplish this to get the car running and stay running

CAR RUNNING, changed the distributor with one from a 1979 ford bronco 302 engine, thus eliminating crankshaft sensor all together.

Can you please elaborate more on the swap? What wiring did you have to do to connect it?
I may be looking at a similar alternative on my '79 Versailles. Photos are always helpful too.
