I was recently given a 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V. The engine turns over but will only start when I pour gas in the carb. It was barn kept and hasn't been started in 15 years.I have ordered new fuel pump and fuel filter. Is there anything else I should consider checking?Any help would be appreciated

THE ACCELERATOR PUMP (PLUNGER) MAY ALREADY BE SUFFERING THIS FATE, AS IT PROBABLY IS NOT SQUIRTING STREAMS OF FUEL TO START IT UP

I SUGGEST A COOLANT FLUSHING

A FULL TUNE UP AND CHANGING OF ALL THE FLUIDS (LIKE THE DIFFERENTIAL, BRAKE FLUID, ETC ETC) MAY ELIMINATE OTHER "HAUNTINGS"
