Can I take transmission and transfer case out of a 1977 chevy and bolt it into a 1987 chevy pickup using a 1977 crossmember. Will my gear ratios be ok too? I know about the drive shaft interchanges just the frame widths and gear ratios are what worry me for over the road.

It depends becaue there were several different t cases used as well as transmissions. You need to know what you have going in as wellas takin g out.T-case gear ratios will be about same.
