First I know this site is for cars, but I've been getting good answers about my snowmobile. Anyway, 1976 Yamaha GS300 snowmobile. It is a 2 stroke, 1 cylinder and I cannot get it to run. I have done literally everything I and the internet can think of. It has good compression (135), good spark, the carb was rebuilt twice in the same month, the exhaust isn't clogged, it does fire on starting fluid, and it is getting fuel. It is also a pull start and I do not have the stamina to stand there and pull the handle 100 times in a row. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Alex

You have tried a new spark plug, and make sure that the gap is ok, also ensure that the carby is not over fuelling and the air cleaner is ok.

This my 2nd spark plug and it is properly gapped. I don't think its overfeuling because I the carb set correctly and it only floods if I pump the primer bulb. This model doesn't have an air cleaner.

This would only leave spark voltage, if you pull it over with the plug out and the spark plug earthed away from the plug hole, do you see a good hot spark?
