I am trying tuneup my 1974 plymouth gold duster, slant 6 engine, 225. What is your suggested air/fuel mixture ratio. I am having trouble getting any power going uphill and starts to overheat.

Please help. I have it set at 1 degree BTDC.

I would move it to 10.

Make sure the points are at.018 and the dwell at 30.

Other than that, it could be a bad cat. 74 should have one.

The overheating may be a bad t stat, clogged rad or blown head gasket which would also explain the no power
