I recently rebuilt an F4 engine for my Kaiser Jeepster convertible. I am having trouble with it running at speed. It idles fine, but at speed it is smooth, then falters, sputters for a few seconds then evens out and runs fine, only to be repeated. Etc. Everything is new and/or rebuilt on the engine. Valve clearances and points are at specs. This is a mystery to me. Any ideas?

SOMEHOW I MISSED YOUR QUESTION--I WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER TECH, YOU WERE HERE. I TRY TO GRAB THE CJs AND OLDER JEEPS, IF I CAN HELP THEM, I HAVE A GOOD BIT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THEM

WELL. YOU ARE PROBABLY THINKING IT'S FUEL OR IGNITION

ME TOO!

WHAT CARB YOU GOT?

IS THE IGNITION STOCK?

IS THIS JEEP ONE THAT MUST REMAIN "PERFECTLY" STOCK?

I HAVE A '46 WILLYS W/ L-134 FLATHEAD.I LIKE MINE LOOKIN" DECENT ON THE OUTSIDE, AS FAR AS UNDER THE HOOD, GOOD RUNNING, LONGEVITY, AND EZ TO MAINTAIN IS MY IDEA OF MORE FUN. LESS WORK

I GOT HIM AND BEGAN IN 1991---HE WAS ROADWORTHY AGAIN IN 1993---I HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING HIM OVER THE YEARS. MY LAST MAJOR WORK WAS REPLACING THE THROW-OUT BEARING (DID THE CLUTCH SYSTEM AGAIN WHILE I WAS IN THERE!).20 YEARS AFTER I DID IT THE 1ST TIME

DO YOU DO YOUR OWN WORK AND KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND IT WELL?

TUNING TOOLS. TIMING LIGHT AND DWELL/ TACH?

A NOVEL-LIKE ANSWER ABOUT YOUR JEEP AND INTENTIONS ARE WELCOME. YOU'LL GET NOVELS FROM ME 10 FOLD!

LEMME KNOW YOUR SITUATION.I GOT MINE RUNNING PRETTY DARN GOOD!

SOME GOOD PICS OF YOUR ENGINE TOP, AND BOTH SIDES. LIST ANY UPGRADES YOU MAY HAVE DONE

MAYBE I CAN ASSIST YOU WITH SOME OF MY IDEAS AND SOME TESTING
