Will using 67 pont. 400 heads on a 66 389 help cooling problems

The heads may not be correct. Pontiac changed the block sometime around then because it went to a 400 from a 389 I forget when they did it. Your only option is to check flow into radiator and try to check a 389 gasket against a 400 one they may be different. Also check your radiator for cold spots with engine off after an overheat. If you feel any cold spots the radiator is bad as it should be the same temp all over and no loose or corroded fins.
