I just bought a 59 ford fairlane 500 galaxie that has been sitting in a barn for 20 + years.

I changed out the fuel system as well as rebuilt the carb. I took off the valve covers and it had crusty oil deposits. I wanted to know if I should changes the rings or will it eventually burn off. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Have you changed the oil? My gess is it will smoke. Valve guides are probable very dried out or just gone. Change the oil use a good 20w50 oil and drive it see how it is
