When I am driving up a steep incline on the interstate and my car feels as if the engine slips, continues to go at half speed and then slowly declines until it shuts off. I had a full tank of gas, fuel pump was changed a year ago. The battery light was lit on the dashboard. What could be causing the engine to slowly stall?

Hi,

Does your battery light come on before or after the engine stalls? After the engine stalls, what do you have to do to restart it? Does it fire right back up?

As far as what it sounds like is this is fuel related. Basically the only thing that knows you are on a hill while driving is a fluid because it shifts to the rear of the tank. However, this is odd because if you had a full tank it won't have a lot of room to shift away from the pump.

Also, was the pump replaced a year ago for this issue? Did it resolve the issue or have you been dealing with it for the last year?

Thank you for using 2CarPros.
