Hi, my car was doing well, but I scan the efficacy of catalytic converter using my own obd scan tool and showed sinusoidal wavy graph of s2 o2 sensor in bank one. So it is bad catalytic converter. I took it to one who assume that he can clean it. I cleaned it, but after one hour of driving check engine light come and a code P2096 appeared. I check it and obd tell it is a converter or o2 sensor problem. I removed the check engine light and I drive it again and the not appeared again. I plugged the live scan obd to see the voltage of o2 sensor S2, and showed abnormal graph in which at begin low voltage then within seconds reach fixed high voltage? I change it from wavy line to fixed high voltage line, is this danger?
What can I do? Is it urgent? I attached the new graph. Please help what to do?

Good afternoon.

With the efficiency code, the converter cannot be cleaned. It must and I repeat, must be replaced. It is an indication of the precious metals inside are worn out and can no longer process the gasses to clean air.

There is no cleaning or any other service that can be done to the converter.

As far as the 2096, that is referring to the O2 sensor. The tech may have damaged it doing his cleaning especially if he used a wire wheel to clean the end of the sensor.

Thanks a lot.

I have ordered (walk 16532 catalytic converter ), but regarding the code P2096, does this code refer to specific sensor? I mean is it upstream or downstream? Or it is a general code for o2 sensor regardless of position?
Thanks

It is the downstream sensor or the one behind the catalytic converter.

In eBay they said not fit. I followed this picture below to buy new catalytic. Please can you tell if (6532 walker) catalytic converter can fit my car? The 2008 car resemble my car from outside but it is 2300 cc not like mine 2500 cc.
Thanks
