Hello,

This is probably an issue with your vehicle's engine's cylinder head(s) and head gasket(s). What usually happens when a vehicle overheats is the aluminum cylinder head(s) warp, causing the head gasket(s) to fail. This will cause a compression issue with the engine and not allow it to start. If you would like instruction on how to replace your vehicle's engine's head gasket(s) and fix this problem, please get back to us and let us know. We will also need to know if your vehicle has a 3.8L engine or a 4.0L engine. We have the guide for you to do this, so please get back to us either way and let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for your swift response. The motor according to the friend it belongs to said it was a 3.5. How much of a chance is there that this could have caused serious head damage? He just bought the vehicle and on tight budget, so I told that I could help with this should be decide to fix it because he is limited in mechanical issues. If so can they fixed or shaved, or is this where you have to purchase a new one? Thanks again.

Hello,

The engine can be fixed. First things first, let's verify that we are dealing with a blown head gasket(s). I don't have the vehicle in front of me, and even though I am pretty sure that this is going to be the case, stranger things have happened before, and facts are always better than strong educated guesses. Here are a couple of links for you to go to to check the vehicle's head gasket(s) are blown:

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out. We can go from there, whatever the tests come back as.

Thanks,
Alex
