I am in a very desperate situation. I purchased a new starter on db electrics, doesn't start. Friend has a starter from an old 88 volvo wagon. Will it work for my car?

WITHOUT ALL OF THE INFO FOR BOTH CARS, IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE THE SAME

HOWEVER, YOU DO HAVE ALL OF THE INFO FOR BOTH VEHICLES

GO TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE ONLINE SUCH AS

advanceautoparts. Com

LOOK UP THE STARTER FOR EACH VEHICLE (THERE MAY BE SEVERAL BRANDS/ STARTERS OFFERED) WRITE DOWN THE PART NUMBERS FOR VEHICLE #1

THEN "CHANGE/ ADD A VEHICLE" AND LOOK UP THE STARTER FOR VEHICLE #2

IF YOU INSERTED THE CORRECT VEHICLE/ YEAR/ ENGINE SIZE

COMPARE THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE STARTERS, IF THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, MOST LIKELY, THE STARTERS WILL INTERCHANGE.

THIS IS HOW I USUALLY DO IT!

LET US KNOW HOW IT ALL WORKS OUT

Sorry for the delay! My friend has been having difficulty with her pregnancy, so I have been trying not to be so pushy (however I sort of want to be) but tomorrow she is sending her hubby to get out there and look. I guess she had tried to look for the VIN but too dusty, door won't open, etc, and the father didn't leave the booklet/manual in the car anywhere.. Good grief! Anyhow, I should be hearing from her Tuesday. I plan on at least lighting a fire under her hubby's butt, and if not them looking, I will ask to go look myself! SO! I should be back later with a response and HOPEFULLY a working car! :-P
