1996 Volvo 850 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my volvo 850 runs like a champ down the road but sometimes when its idling in park or drive the engine misses sometimes dies. Could this be the o2 sensor is bad?

You should take to Volvo or a shop that is familiar with Volvo's. You may need to clean the throttle and adjust the throttle position sensor.

You check the timing belt? Remove the distributor cap and have some ne crank the engien. While the engine is cranking check to see if the rotor is even spinning? If notthenthe timing belt is broken.
