Why is my car shutting off and I always have to get a boost

Discharge when the car sits for a few days it runs perfectly then after that it starts stalling out when you accelerate on the gas. When the starter gets hot it discharges the battery and sometimes when you hit the gas it acts like it is not getting gas. What is the problem? I have never had to fix anything up on the hood before. It is a good running car

Have battery checked for condition including load test and charging system. Then scan for codes. Mosts places check battery for free.
