White smoke smells like gasoline coming from my tailpipe and I burned a quarter of a tank of gas in 2 miles.

Good morning,

White smoke is usually an indication of burning coolant from a failed head gasket.

A leak down test on the cylinders will confirm this. You can also do a chemical test as well.

The smell may be from a cylinder not burning all the fuel and unburned fuel is in the smoke.
