1989 Volvo S70 Engine Makes Noises

I turn my car on and it started makeing a noise I had to drive it home from work and after a while the noise stoped, I parked the car but now that I tryed to take it to a mechanic it does not turn on it feels like it wants too.

What kind of noise was it making? When you try to start the vehicle up, does it crank over and is it a strong crank or does it feel like it is turning over very slow?

If it is cranking over very slow you could have a weak battery. You need to have the battery tested and have the charging system checked. Also have the shop do a voltage drop test across the positive battery cable. They go bad most of the time having high resistance.
