I own a 1973 volkswagen beetle, the spark plug blew out of the engine while driving down the road. I bought a 14mm cylinder head rethreader kit, it comes with 4 different inserts, 3/8- 7/16 - 1/2 - 3/4. I don't know which one to use? Could you please tell me how to use to tool and what size? It also lacks a lot of power. Joan

My guess to the size you need, see if you can match it with the other cylinders, that should give you the size you need. I've never worked on the Beetles before but I have worked on other cars. As for how to use the tool. Make sure when you get the ratchet handle on the rethread tool, make sure it is lubricated full of oil. What you want to do is to remember there is no rush. Turn it about 1/2 a turn at a time, then back it out again. Lubricate it and do it 3/4 turn so on and so forth. It should work out.
