It starts sometimes but then shuts off out randomly and won’t start again. I’ve had the crankshaft sensor replaced and still not fixed. It cranks but doesn’t start.

Vehicle listed above is a SRI.

Here is a guide that covers the basic items of a crank no start. Let's run through this and see if anything jumps out at you.

We don't offer this vehicle in the USA so I can't pull specific info about your vehicle however the next time it does this, we need to check for fuel and spark. It is good that you replaced the CKP sensor as this is the most likely cause but we need to try to narrow down what the cause could be.

Most likely we are not getting fuel or spark so we need to narrow this down. Next time this acts up we need to spray some starter fluid in the intake and see if it starts. This sounds like a fuel issue but that will confirm it and then we can take the next steps. Thanks

Hi mate, starter fluid does not make it start when it isn’t working. I’m going to attach a video of the engine running and being revved. I believe it could be something to do with the timing.

Okay. It could be a timing issue but I don't necessarily hear a timing issue in that video but that doesn't mean it is not.

So let's do the next step. When it is not starting, let's pull a spark plug and connect it back to the ignition and then hold the plug against the engine block and see if there is spark. If there is spark and starter fluid doesn't help then we need to dig further into a timing issue. Basically at that point we can assume it is getting spark at the wrong time and so it is not starting.

Have you been able to check for codes and see if there are any related to this?
