MY WIFES CAR WOULD NOT START THE OTHER DAY LIKE THE BATTERY WAS FLAT GOT A PUSH IT RAN OK THEN WE HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED AND THE ALTERNATOR AND THEY SAID IT WAS OK BUT THE MAN SAID IT COULD BE THE PLUG ON THE IGNITION THEY GO FAULTY BECAUSE SOMETIMES WE PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE DASH LIGHTS UP BUT WILL NOT START TAKE THE KEY OUT PUT IT BACK IN AND IT STARTS WE JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT WHY WOULD THE BATTERY GO FLAT NOT LEFT ANY LIGHTS

start by replacing the battery to be on the safe side .. sometimes they give false readings when checked ... your technician is correct you will need to replace the ignition switch soon ... this could stop working altogether leaving you stranded when it fails so have it done ASAP .. it is a common fault on vauxhall vehicles hope this helps
