Was driving when it quit running. Waited a few minutes it started. Next day it shut off and would not start. Had full power when I turn the key radio lights windows all work but nothing happens when I turn the key. Had new key made at dealer, changed starter, alternator, cam sensor and ignition switch still got nothing. Tired of just wasting money. Any suggestions?

Hi Dawn,

What was the reason for them changing the cam sensor and ignition switch, starter, and alternator? Did they have codes or were these guesses?

Also, just so I understand, the engine cranks over but does not start or when you turn the key it doesn't even turn over?

If the engine cranks but does not start, then we need to verify the basics. It needs three things to start, compression, fuel, and spark. This issue does not sounds like a compression issue. It sounds like it has no fuel or spark. Here is a video that explains this and how to check:

If it does not do anything when the key is turned this sounds like a security key issue. If this is it, we need to have the codes pulled from the computer. If you don't have those already or have a scan tool to get them yourself, most all parts stores will do it for you. Clearly there is an issue getting the vehicle to the store if it doesn't start. So maybe call the local one and see if someone is willing to run out to your house. If not, our hands may be tied and you will need to get it to a shop.

Let me know this stuff and we can go from there. Thanks

Mostly guesses on there part. The van does not do anything when the key is turned. It doesn't make any noise nothing. It doesn't try to turn over like the battery is dead but it had full power to everything else.

Okay. Did they find any codes and provide them to you?

Also, take a look at this attachment. When you turn the key on does the red security light stay on solid, blink, or go out and stay out after four seconds?
