The brake booster and master cylinder were replaced (not sure if it was replaced with the original). After a month, we observed that the check engine light was on. The car was scanned, and the fault P0171 was found meaning system too lean bank 1. We found there is a vacuum leak between the master cylinder and brake booster. The master cylinder was removed, but there is no gasket or o-ring seal. Shouldn't there be one?

Hi,

This vehicle isn't offered in the US, but I did some research. There should be an o-ring between the master cylinder and the booster. I attached a pic of what I found below.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

When I look up the number from the pic you provided, it takes me to a 2005 Toyota Camry. This is what makes it hard for me without having the specific info in a manual.

Take a look at the pic I attached and let me know if that looks correct. That is a 2005 Camry set-up.

Yes, this seems to be correct, according to the drawing there is no gasket or o-ring between the Master Cylinder and booster therefore there shouldn't be a vacuum leak. It's most likely a bad booster. Thanks for the support.

Hi,

I believe there should be an o-ring there. Have you tried checking with a dealer?
