Put used harmonic balancer on and it ran for a couple of days. Turned it off and it will not start now. Backfires through manifold. Worse backfires when I tried starting fluid. New plugs and belt.

Hi Mark and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Have you checked trouble codes? They should give us a good idea what is happening. If it is back firing through the intake, usually it is a timing issue. However, there are other things which can cause it. Since you were using the car, shut it off and this started, we really need to check for trouble codes. Take a look through this link. It discusses reasons for back firing and how to check and repair the problems. Do this first and let me know what you find. If you are unsuccessful with the link, we will dig deeper.

As I said, let me know what you find and what trouble codes are stored in the computer if you find any.

Take care and I will watch for your reply.
