When you go down the road the truck will start loping give it a lot of gas and it will fly.

I am not sure what you mean by loping other then it is feeling like a hesitation? Like it is jerky or bucking?

If this is the case then giving it more throttle and it smooths out is most likely a fuel issue or possibly air flow sensor issue.

However, I would suggest starting with checking the fuel pressure when you are driving the vehicle and this is acting up.

If the fuel pressure is staying steady then I would remove and clean the air flow sensor and see if any changes to this issue happen. Here is a guide that will help with this:

I am attaching the info below on this sensor which will help with this. Worst case, we can unplug the sensor and that will cause the PCM to use default settings and if it stops acting up then the MAF is the issue.

Please let us know what you find with this and we can go from there.

Thanks
