I am a 72 year old lady, I purchased this vehicle with all the money I had and it was $1,800.00 Cash.
on October 20th 2019.

They would not let me take it to a mechanic. Sold as is!

I could only sit in it and run it in their lot, or bring a mechanic to look at it.
They said it was in good condition. 200,000, miles. But did not start up they had to do something with it under the hood.
It was quiet running. But I did not drive it until I drove it off the lot. After paying for it.

Within one block of leaving the car lot.
Service engine warnings started popping up on the dash readout.

Alarms going off and the car just shutting off at traffic lights or when slow moving in traffic.

Lost all dash lights radio and A/C came back on by their self!

Sometimes!

Blinkers erratic in blinking, stopping or freezing up.

Engine running, but all dash readouts stopped working.

Made it home 2 miles away and heard what sounded like it running hot so next morning I checked water and it was low. About a quart.
Checked other fluids and they were okay but added a pint of oil.

Two hours later: driving to town.

Now engine is shutting off
Trying to start it sometimes it would do nothing and key got stuck in place several times.
Alarms stopped but service things were still on for traction control, stabitrack and awd off!

Driving about 10 miles with only some service engine warnings on dash I was doing great until.

I stopped at traffic light, light changed, pressed gas it barely moved forward, transmission acted like it was in low gear, with parking brake on as well in drive. Shifted to low and it went about 2 mph. And no faster, back to drive and it almost stopped moving so put back in low gear and crept to a side road where I could hear the fans running widely.
After turning off the engine.

I look at temperature gauge and it was boiling hot!
I got towed. Home.

Just starting to look into it now and water was totally gone. Read up on several troubleshooting tips and find out all my problems are common in this engine!

And there are sensors that could be bad and causing all my problems.

Possibly makes the transmission stop when engine overheats?
To protect the engine?

I am told there are many sensors on
This car 2 sensors (ect)
Engine coolant temp sensor
That are there, for that purpose?

If I can get cooling system sealed I will take it to get codes read.

PS. Talked to a Chevrolet mechanic of 30 years that said all the wire
harnesses on this motor were the problems and they never could correct it. Even Chevrolet dealer.

Very poor excuse for a dealer to shirk their duty on this warranty!

Motor was condemned in 2005 to 2017.
Same problems over and over!

Be back to tell you how it goes and what I did if anything. So as to not loose my $1,800.00 investment.

Good evening.

There is no warranty when you buy a car as is. The only reason you can return the car is if it has frame damage and they failed to inform you of that.

Yes, I need the codes to help you.

The AWD, Trac and ABS are on from a code for the ABS. Once that is resolved, all those lights will go out except the service engine light.
