Shift lever is stuck in reverse, the clutch is fine, the car starts, I've disconnected the linkage cables, and can freely move the shifter from under the car. The shift lever will not budge, is there any way to free the lever? Soo frustrated!

It could be stuck in 2 gears at once where you have to move the other lever first before the reverse lever will move. Otherwise you just have something broken internally in the transmission.

When this happened I was in reverse slipping on ice the wheels finally caught squeal the tires just a little bit and stop the car could not get out of reverse so the shifter and the shift lever are both stuck in the reverse position would your answer of being stuck between two gears still be possible
