Transmission is slipping between first and second. Had it to the dealer three times, being told they agree it is a bit rough, drive it to 15,000 miles so it can learn my driving, sounds bogus to me. Opinion?

Good morning.

The transmission does have adaptive strategy which means it will learn how to shift according to your driving, but it does not take that long at all. It takes a matter of days for that to happen. What is the exact issue? Just hard shifting?

Shifts hard and the rpm's go up to 4,000 to 5,000 in between shifts. This has been an issue since December. Seems like it gets stuck trying to go into from first to second and from second back to first. Dealership has done re-calibration twice now. Also set the learning mechanism to factory. Was told to drive it another 10,000 miles which would take me about a year to put that kind of miles on the truck.

4,000 to 5,000 is way too high for a shift.

I would get another opinion from another dealer. I do not agree with there assessment. I would ask to road test a new truck and see if the same condition exists. With no miles, it should do the exact same thing.
