I have a 95 4x4 pickup, with a 3.0 liter v6, problem is I'm using oil, no leaks I can find, not burning oil, not seeping into antifreeze, engine has 150k[miles]. It uses about a liter for every 1000 miles. Any guess as to where its going?

Dear Dr,
You are probably burning the oil if you don't have any leaks. You may not be able to tell because it may be in small amounts, after all the engine has 150,000 miles. If you want to be sure you we need to do a compression test. If the readings are not with in specs you will need to do a wet test. After taking an initial reading pour 2 to 3 table spoons of motor oil in the cylinder and then repeat the test. If compession goes up the rings/cylinder walls are worn and this is where your oil is going.
