Electrical problem
1999 Toyota Pickup 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have a 99 tacoma 3.4L V6. I have not been able to start my truck. When I depress the clutch and turn the key, I can hear the cilinoid click but then nothing else. It does not crank. Yesterday I had a mobile mechanic come by and test my electrical system. He told me that he tested all of the connections up to the starter and that all were fine so it had to be the starter. I had previously pulled the starter and had it tested and it tested fine. Since I have heard about problems with the starter even if they test out ok, I decided to replace the starter anyway. The truck still does not start and the mechanic said he would come by again on monday. My engine is not ceased, I have a new battery, and a new starter. Any suggestions on where else to look.

Hi mauitoll,

Check for bad grounds from the battery to the engine.

Use a remore starting device to test the starter. It could be a faulty with the ignition switch or its wiring circuuit.
