Hello. I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla VE with 96K miles that I'm having my first issues with. My car begins to overheat with the temperature increasing to the Red, however when I turn on the heat halfway between cold and hot the temperature goes down to normal at the halfway point. I had the temperature gauge in the engine replaced and the radiator flushed, but still the same problem. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? If you need further information please let me know. Thank you!

Your vehicle's thermostat may be sticking, remove and test it to ensure it is opening at appropriate temperature. Also check to make sure your radiator cooling fan(s) is coming on.
