What is the typical cost of the repairs necessary to correct oil burning? Is there a difference between a "vale job" and a "ring job?

The cost all depends on what needs to be done.

Some times its valve seals, some times its bad piston rings.

Rings are more expensive as they take longer to perform an overhaul.
