I replaced the distributor cap and rotor and the problem seemed to be fixed. A few days have gone by without any problems, now car will not start again. It is like I didn't repair it at all. What could be causing this?

Hello,

If the engine cranks over strong but no start it could be due to not getting spark of fuel.
First check to see if you have spark at the plugs. No spark can be due to a bad rotor or cap, it can also be due to a faulty distributor.

If you have spark to the plugs, then check to see if you have fuel to the injectors. When the key is turned to the on position, does the fuel pump come on?
An inoperative fuel pump can be due to a bad relay, faulty wiring, or a defective pump.
First check the fuel pump relay. It is located in the fuse box under the hood.
Check for any corrosion or burnt pin(s).

Here is a guide on how to test the relay:

If the relay is good, check for power to the fuel pump harness. If there is power but the pump is not coming on, then it is a bad pump and will need replacement.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
