SUBARU CHEWS BELTS-ENGINE AND BREAK LIGHTS COME ON

1993 Subaru Legacy
178k miles on it
automatic
4WD
2.2 litre NON turbo
Problem-chews up belts
sounds like belts squealing
leaves belt dust all over front of alternator
break light&battery lights come on&go off at
same time
starts easily
idles rough for about 5 minutes when first started on cold engine
alternator checks out fine under load
battery checks out fine
no fluid leaks
does NOT use fluids

Bought used
Replaced-both front axles
both belts (twice)
starter
What's my problem? lol

with belt off, check the altinator to see if bearings are starting to seize up. while you are at it check the rest of the pulleys for alignment.
