Hi, I have 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback that runs at 1800rpm after I replace the battery. I had the same problem last year when I reset a check engine code, but it whent back to normal after a few miles. Now I have run already 80 miles and is still accelerated. Will you please give me a clue to start?

The computer has to relearn itself due to disconnecting the battery 40 cycle/starts to regain its memory

Test the idle air control solenoid and throttle position sensor

When you say 40 cycle/starts it means turn on and off the engine 40 times?
How do I test these sensors?
Thanks

It takes about 40 restarts of the engine for the computer to relearn its memory-if it continues check the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor-
