Hi Folks:
My grandson just bought this car it has an automatic transmission. Problem is the speedometer does not work. We have been told it could be something called the input speed sensor. Can you confirm if this true? If so where is it located on this vehicle?
Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil,

Sorry for the slow response we have been super busy, it seems a bunch of cars are breaking down lol, here is the location of the speed sensor, it is actually called a transmission output speed sensor which controls the speedometer. Please let us know how it goes.

Best, Ken

So I hate too be a pest but is it left side or right side facing the engine compartment? Also just a bit more information to give you. We had a mechanic do a full system scan & during the scan he was able to activate all the cluster gauges except the speedometer with his computer. Also the cruise control still works. Thought this info might be helpful
Thanks Phil
ps: I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

If the cruise works then the speed sensor is probably not the problem, its more likely the speedometer gauge quit on you instead. You will probably need a rebuilt cluster.
