There is no engine light on. Had the transmission rebuilt last year, they replaced the computer board in it. I need to get the car smogged, but when they plug the reader into the car, the car turns off. Any ideas?

Good morning.

Have you had any other shop try to plug in to your car?

Go to a parts store and see if they can connect. It may be the smog testers computer.

Yep, they all use the same machines and the same software.

That is why I suggested to try a parts store to see if they can communicate with the modules.
Otherwise you may have a failed PCM.
