Why does it shut off while driving

I have a 08 grand cherokee with a diesel engine while driving it will just shut off no fault codes and can be restarted immediately it may work fine for awhile then go through a series of this shuting off.

Something in the fuel system is not working correctly.

Get someone to do a fuel pressure test on it to verify the correct pressure. There are solenoids as well that need to be checked. A shop can view this info in a scan tool.
