1998 Saturn SL2 Repair Question
1998 Saturn SL2 Brake Shoe Springs
1998 Saturn SL2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
How oftern if ever should brake shoe springs be replaced?
depends on ur weather if u have alot of snow and they salt it down and it gets in ur rear brakes then i would change them.but if u have nice dry weather like california then i would just replace the shoes and inspect the springs and hardware kit and when in doubt just change them there pretty cheap.make sure u check ur rear wheel cylinders they leak often on that yr range u have.pull back the rear dust boot cover if fluid comes out change both of them.if u change them make sure u get four new copper crush washers for the brake lines or u will have brake fluid leaking out.let me know how it goes.
