just had clutch replaced and now it revs high when in neutural and when in gear does not rev down when not stepping on gas petal

What rpm does it idle at out of gear and at stop?

3000 I have to step on brakes to make it decrease

thats really high i would look for a vaccuum leak to start with look at ur s shaped hose going from ur intake manifold to ur valve cover they colaspe and get holes in them.u can also let it idle and spray carb spray anywhere u think there could be a leak if the rpms increase or decrease or the car stalls or runs rough then u have a leak.if u find nothing there u can always take out ur idle air control valve and clean it.do u have any codes?let me know what u find.

Thank you for your suggestions will try one or all tonight. Thought it had something to do with new clutch or gears what a relief
