My car is a 2003 Saturn Ion 2. I bought it used about 1 and one-half years ago. It has a 4 cylinder engine and about 30,000 miles. It has not had any repairs lately, only routine maintenance. 2 to 3 months ago it suddenly died, including the engine and electrical system, without warning, after it had been driven awhile. It restarted right away without a problem. It has continued to do this 2 or 3 more times (never on the highway, only with in city driving) after a few weeks or a month of use. It has been seen by 2 dealers who have run diagnostic tests and have kept the car and used it for a couple of days and nothing has been found wrong.

Hello !!

well, after analized your question, i came out with only one thing in mind; Ignition Switch...
the ignition switch its the only device that controls the "power" of the engine and electrical components that can be turn on just with the key in "on" position...

Could be that the "solder" on the ignition switch or the contacts are defective...

As a random issue (Vibration.. heat...etc) that trigger the "cut-out" ...

Make the ignition switch check it good..

let us know and good Luck!

BTW Thanks a lot for your Donation!

We appreciate that !!
